Extractions

Teeth that are diseased, decayed, or broken may be a candidate for extraction. Before extraction, we will try to save your tooth, with a root canal and a crown. However, if it is not possible to keep your natural tooth the next best thing is to have an extraction done by the experts at Lyla Dental Clinic.

Wisdom teeth extractions are commonly performed to prevent or address the following symptoms:

Overcrowded teeth, decayed wisdom teeth, impacted wisdom teeth, gum infection or inflammation, bone damage or tooth pain associated with the above.

What you must follow after your dental extraction:

  • Don’t rinse your mouth for at least 24 hours. This may remove any blood clots that have formed, causing you to bleed again.
  • From the second day, rinse gently 4 times a day with warm salt water.
  • Eat soft foods so you don’t have to chew as much.
  • If your gums bleed, bite down for at least 15 minutes on a clean cotton ball.
  • Avoid Alcohol consumption or smoking.
  • Brush your teeth gently, away from the wound site.
